Dinner from chicken fried steak to fried catfish, mashed potatoes and red eye gravy to fried okra, this buffet just about covers all of the fine Southern specialties. House-made fruit cobblers top it off! Lunch 11am until 2 pm. Soups and sandwiches and many specials to choose from. Cowboy's Corner Cafe in Eagle Nest. 575-377-9525. Great home-cooked breakfast & lunch served. Try Frank's burritos! On the corner of Hwys 64 & 38.
Dudley's BBQ in Angel Fire. Seasonally in residence at the Valley Market. Great BBQ, brisket, ribs, beef, chicken, sausage, turkey legs. Go or order early for best selection. Mountain View Blvd (in the supermarket).

Guadalajara Grill & Restaurant North in Taos. 757-737-0816. While there are many great restaurants in Taos, one of our guests' and personal favorites is this one. You must go to the one north of the plaza, near Penny Pinch Wash-o-mat. Great Mexican cooking, quick & reasonable with a wonderfully funky decor. Mostly frequented by locals. On Paseo del Pueblo North.
Hatcha's Cafe in Mora. 575-387-6034 or 387-9299. A local favorite for excellent (New) Mexican food. Visit this family-run restaurant to try a variety of northern New Mexico cuisine. Have you ever heard of Indian tacos or stuffed sopapillas? Usually closed Saturdays. Call ahead. In the village of Mora (visit the Salmon Raspberry farm & store and the alpacas while on this tour.)

Lucky Shoe Sports Bar & Grille in Eagle Nest. 575-377-7264. At first glance, it appears just to be a tavern or sports bar, but in a separate room is a small restaurant, very popular with the locals. Try just about anything from the menu! They'll bring you so much good food that you'll have a tough time finishing! (We've never been able to order one of their desserts.) Big-screen TV, pool table, Karoake nights, and more. On Therma Drive, East end of town.
